Why CGS

CGS Suppressors, the company that started as Chaos Gear Supply, designs and makes its cans in Artesia, New Mexico. A lot of the line is 3D printed in titanium, which lets it shape internals you can't machine.

The MOD9 X is the one to know. It's a 9mm can printed from grade 5 titanium with a 17-4 stainless steel piston, 7.7 inches long, 1.37 inches wide and 9 ounces, at about $990.

The rest of the line includes the Hyperion and Helios rifle cans, the Hydra and Nautilus, and the Pandora firing device. CGS also builds custom rifles and gives 1% of sales to a unit scholarship fund.

Printed titanium keeps weight down, but it costs more than a steel can, and the MOD9 X was on backorder in early October. ATF stopped enforcing the Form 4 wait on October 9, 2026, so the backorder is now the only delay.

We'd look at CGS if you want a light, printed can and you're fine paying more and waiting longer for it.
