About Evolution Gun Works

EGW machines scope bases, rings, red dot mounts and 1911 parts, and it's known for picatinny bases that fit a huge list of rifle models.

Founded 1991, Quakertown, Pennsylvania, Made in USA · Scope bases · Picatinny · Competition roots · Family owned

Why Evolution Gun Works

EGW is a Quakertown, Pennsylvania machine shop that started in 1991 and grew out of competition shooting. On a rifle page, it's the name on the Picatinny scope base that fits your bolt gun when nobody else makes one.

Bases cover a long list of makers, from Savage, Remington, Ruger and Tikka to Bergara, Henry and CVA. The same shop makes rings, red dot plates for pistols like the Beretta 92 RDO and Springfield Prodigy, 1911 fire control parts and chamber checkers.

For an AR there's little here you need. For the hunting rifle next to it, an EGW base is a solid, made in the USA way to get a rail on. We'd check the model list before buying anything else.

  • EGW bases aren't just for rifles, it also makes them for handguns and shotguns.
