FN America

FN America ranks #67 of 375 brands on GunPartPicker so far in October 2026, just behind Centurion Arms, with about 1 in every 500 parts builders added. Up from #69 in September. Builders are reaching for FN America mostly for barrel parts. The most added single part is the FN AR-15 M16 Barrel 16 Mid-Length 5.56mm, on top again this month.

Complete rifles have not been restocked once this month. About 31% of the 147 FN America products we track are in stock today.

Why FN America

FN America is the US arm of Belgium's FN Herstal, and its Columbia, South Carolina plant has built M4A1s, M16s, M249s and M240s on military contract. Its civilian FN 15 rifles and AR barrels come from that same work.

The barrels are why AR builders know the name. They're cold hammer forged from 41V50 chrome moly vanadium steel, magnetic particle inspected and chrome lined to the military standard, in 14.5 to 20 inch lengths with carbine, mid or rifle gas.

The FN 15 rifles run from the $999 Guardian through the SRP G2, TAC3 and DMR3, plus Military Collector M4 and M16 models built as close to issue as the law allows. The SCAR, 509 pistols and Five-seveN round out the line outside the AR world.

FN is the sixth most added barrel brand, in about 7% of builds that have a barrel. Builds with an FN barrel also carry Sons of Liberty Gun Works parts 55% of the time, a duty grade pairing you don't see much elsewhere.

The trade-off is price and weight. FN set its barrels at $349 to $379 at launch, well above a typical $200 barrel, and the government profile versions aren't light. You buy them for durability, not for a featherweight build.

Stock is thin. In early October only about 35% of FN listings across stores were in stock. FN spent 2026 launching a new SCAR, the FN 309 pistol and its first optic, so AR barrels aren't the headline right now.

We'd buy an FN barrel for a hard use or clone build where chrome lining matters more than weight. Grab one when you see it in stock.
