Why TacFire

TacFire is a wholesaler, not a store. It sells to dealers only and has moved high volume budget parts for about ten years, so you'll find its uppers, kits and small parts at online retailers.

The UP01C stripped upper is 7075-T6 aluminum with a black hardcoat anodized finish and M4 feed ramps, and it comes with the dust cover and forward assist in place. It sells for around $64.

The lower parts kit is listed as made in the USA, 23 pieces with a stainless trigger and hammer, for about $45 without a grip. TacFire also sells AR-9, .308, .300 Blackout and 7.62x39 parts, rifle and pistol build kits, and slides.

Prices sit far under the typical part: about $250 for an upper against roughly $400, $42 for a handguard against $175, and $22 for a buffer tube kit against $99. It's the sixth most added upper, in about 7% of builds with one.

The trade-off is support. TacFire isn't open to the public, so you buy its parts through other stores. At these prices, check fit and finish the day the box arrives.

We'd use TacFire for a budget build, starting with the lower parts kit or a stripped upper. Put the savings into the barrel and bolt carrier.

  • The UP01C stripped upper is 7075-T6 aluminum with a black hardcoat anodized finish and M4 feed ramps.
  • The lower parts kit is listed as made in the USA, with a stainless steel trigger and hammer.
