PSA sells affordable AR lowers, uppers, BCGs and complete rifles, and it makes them in house from forging to finished part.
Founded 2008, Columbia, South Carolina, Made in USA · Lifetime warranty · Transferable warranty · Value pricing · Vertically integrated
Palmetto State Armory started in Columbia, South Carolina, in 2008. It owns its supply chain, including Spartan Forge and DC Machine, so it forges, machines and finishes its own parts. That's how the prices stay low. Forged AR lowers, uppers and BCGs are what it's known for.
The line goes far past basic ARs: Sabre receivers, including a $329 Sabre-IC set for 6mm ARC on Magpul ICAR magazines, the JAKL, the Dagger pistol and AKs. Its sister brands include H&R retro M16s and AAC.
PSA makes the most added lower, in about 27% of builds that have one, at about $150 against roughly $213. Its uppers come third at about $230 against roughly $400, and its BCGs run about $90 against roughly $199.
The usual complaint is service, not the parts. Buyers describe slow replies, refunds that take weeks, restocking fees, split shipments and the odd wrong item. Inspect your order when it lands and keep the paperwork.
PSA keeps shipping new stuff. It started selling suppressors with Capitol Armory in 2025, won the Shield Arms magazine patent case that September and showed revived AAC MPW rifles at SHOT 2026. In early October about 92% of its listings were in stock.
For a first build, we'd start with a PSA lower and BCG. They're cheap, they're almost always in stock, and the savings can go into a better trigger or optic.

solid stuff. no issues.
Installed it. Went to the range. 500 rounds no issues. Seems about as good as other entry-level AR parts I've tried. Not amazing but gets the job done.
i needed a new lower parts kit and this was one of the cheaper options. its worked fine so far, no major issues. not the highest quality but gets the job done if you're on a budget
my buddy recommended this upper receiver, said it was a good deal. put it on my rifle and so far its been great, a little over 500 rounds through it with no problems
