function and tolerances are exactly as expected from aero, no real issues to flag. only nit is the aero logo on the magwell side is pretty subtle, almost faded looking compared to my older M4E1 with a deeper laser etch. cosmetic only
lockup against an aero lower is tight, no movement between halves with the takedown pin in. ejection port cover hole is dead size for a standard kit. removing the FA is the right call for a lightweight build
no forward assist version saves weight and looks cleaner on a build where you dont use the FA. drop in was about a minute once i mated it with a lower. machining inside the raceway is smooth, BCG glides without drag
Aero M4E1 threaded upper without forward assist is cleaner looking than the standard. Cerakote was slightly thick which made initial mate to my Aero lower tight, eased after a few cycles.
