Overview
The American Defense Manufacturing AD-RECON-S is a cantilever scope mount designed for AR-platform rifles, featuring a 20 MOA forward cant built into the mount's base. This cant provides additional elevation adjustment for optics, beneficial for long-range engagements by pre-loading the optic's reticle. Constructed from aluminum, it accommodates optics with a 35mm main body tube diameter. GPP build data shows this mount commonly appears in precision rifle builds alongside optics like the Vortex Razor HD Gen III 6-36x56 and the Nightforce ATACR 7-35x56. It is frequently paired with 18-inch and 20-inch barrels, often from brands like Criterion and White Oak Armament.
Pros
- +The 20 MOA cant provides additional usable elevation adjustment for optics, a feature found on a moderate number of mounts in the GPP catalog.
- +The FDE color option is the second most common color for optic mounts in the GPP catalog.
- +The cantilever design positions the optic forward, providing optimal eye relief on AR-platform rifles.
Trade-offs
- −This mount is designed for 35mm optic tube diameters, which is a common option, but most mounts in the category are configured for 30mm tubes.
