Why Law Tactical

Law Tactical's founder came off a Secret Service counter-sniper team, where his issued rifle wouldn't fit in the bag. The folding stock adapter came out of that, went from aluminum to all steel over three generations, and earned a military NSN through SOCOM and Crane.

The Gen 3-M is machined 4140 steel with a DLC finish. The hinge weighs 8.5 ounces, the bolt carrier extension 2 more, and it adds 1.3 inches to length of pull. It takes A2, mil-spec and commercial tubes, works with gas or piston, and fires one round folded before you open it to cycle.

There's a Gen 3-HK version, and the ARIC internal carrier swaps the rear spring for two small ones on guide rods so the rifle fires and cycles folded, in C and M versions for unsuppressed and suppressed use. Slings, rails, pistol plates and AKURACY sights round it out.

It's the second most common stock adapter, in about 34% of builds that have one. It costs about $249 against roughly $135 for the typical adapter.

The complaint is price and weight. You're adding over 10 ounces of steel, and look-alike adapters sell for about $100 less. Counterfeits also show up online when demand spikes, so buy from a known dealer. The ARIC needed a short break-in in testing.

We'd buy the Gen 3-M if your rifle has to fit a small bag or a vehicle. Start with the plain adapter, and only add the ARIC if you really need to shoot folded.
