Builders are reaching for Leapers mostly for buffer tube assembly parts. Why Leapers

Leapers started in a Detroit area garage in 1992 selling a small 4x28 scope. Today it runs a big campus in Livonia, Michigan, and UTG is the name you'll see stamped on the parts.

UTG PRO is the tier made in that Michigan plant, which opened in 2009 and now runs dozens of CNC machines and its own injection molding. For AR builders that mostly means receiver extensions, rails, mounts and handguards, with billet 7075 receivers at the top of the range.

The wider catalog runs past 700 items: stocks, bipods, sights, optic mounts and soft goods. Plain UTG gear also comes from a Taiwan center opened in 2018, so look for the PRO label if made in USA matters to you.

Buffer tube kits are where these show up most in builds, at about 3% of tube assemblies. They sell for about $24 against roughly $100 for the typical kit, and a bare tube runs about $22 against roughly $45.

Check whether a tube is mil-spec or commercial diameter before you order a stock, since the two don't swap. A lifetime warranty backs the line.

We'd put a UTG PRO mil-spec tube kit on a budget build without a second thought. It's the cheap part that rarely needs an upgrade.
