Why Savage Arms
Savage has made guns since 1894 and builds them today in Westfield, Massachusetts and Lakefield, Ontario. A group of investors led by Savage's own management bought the company from Vista Outdoor in 2019.
The Model 110 is the name to know. It's a bolt action designed in 1958 and made ever since, and since 2002 it's come with the AccuTrigger, which lets you set the pull weight yourself. The AccuFit stock adjusts to fit you.
The rest of the catalog covers the AXIS, the straight pull Impulse, 110 rimfires, the Renegauge shotgun, a 1911 and the Stance XR micro 9mm. On the AR side Savage has sold the MSR 15 line, including the Recon LRP and Long Range.
The catch for a builder is that Savage sells complete guns, not AR parts, so you won't find its uppers or lowers here. We'd look at Savage for a bolt gun with a good trigger out of the box, and buy AR parts elsewhere.
- The AccuTrigger lets you adjust the pull weight yourself, and Savage has used it since 2002.
- Savage guns are made in Westfield, Massachusetts and Lakefield, Ontario.
