Builders reached for Unity Tactical mostly for switch parts. The most added single part was the Unity Tactical TAPS - Surefire / Laser - 9" - FDE, taking the top spot from the Unity Tactical TAPS - Surefire / Laser - 9" - Black.

Why Unity Tactical

Unity Tactical is a Broussard, Louisiana company founded by Trent Zimmer that builds parts for duty and military rifles. It grew fast enough that in August 2025 it brought in a new president from Team Wendy, the helmet maker.

The FAST mount is what put it on the map. It holds a red dot at 2.26 inches to the center of the glass and has small backup irons built into the mount. That height keeps your head up for night vision, helmets and big ear pro.

The switches are the other half. The Hot Button angles a light switch at 45 degrees on a 9 inch cable, on Picatinny or M-LOK. The AXON is a two button switch that runs a light and a laser, starting around $154. FAST variants also fit Primary Arms prisms and magnifiers.

Unity is the second most added pressure switch, in about 38% of builds with one, at around $145. Its optic mounts run about $160 against roughly $65 for the typical mount. More than half the builds with Unity parts also carry an EOTech, which fits the duty style setup.

Height is the trade-off. On a bench or prone, a 2.26 inch mount can make a solid cheek weld hard, and a cheaper tall mount gets you most of the way for less money. Hot Buttons have also had a habit of selling out fast.

We'd buy Unity if you run a weapon light or shoot with a helmet on, and the Hot Button is the easy first part. Skip the FAST mount if you mostly shoot prone.
