- Most picked overall, and best budget (under $30): Magpul AFG-2 angled foregrip, black. It took 19.6% of foregrip picks, from 529 different builders. That's more than the next two grips combined. It was $23.99 and in stock at 10 stores when we checked on September 27, 2026.
- Best mid tier ($30 to $49): Daniel Defense M-LOK vertical foregrip, FDE. It's the most picked grip in that band, chosen by 97 builders, at $35.
- Best premium ($50 and up): Fortis SHIFT vertical grip, M-LOK. It's the number two foregrip overall at 8.9% of picks, from 241 builders, and it sells for $56.95.
- Most picked handstop: Magpul M-LOK Handstop Kit, black. 152 builders chose it, more than any other handstop, at $16.99.

How We Pick
Every pick on this page is the grip the most builders chose in its price band, among grips you can buy today. We don't pick from reviews, sponsorships or what forums like. The advice further down explains why a pick makes sense. It never makes the pick.
We count different builders, not clicks, so one person adding the same grip ten times counts once. One builder added the Magpul MVG 22 times, and we counted it once. The percentages on this page count each builder once per grip. Prices in the charts are what the grip cost when the builder picked it. Prices on the product cards are live.

What Changed Since March
When we first published this guide in March 2026, the AFG-2 led at 19.2% and the Fortis SHIFT was second at 8.8%. The top two haven't moved. Since July, the AFG-2 leads at 19.6% and the SHIFT is second at 8.9%. The March numbers used a different count, so compare the order more than the decimals.
Two things did change. Magpul's MVG slid from sixth to ninth. And stops shrank: March put handstops and finger stops at 25% of picks together, and since July they're 13.5%.

By brand, Magpul carries 52% of foregrip picks, up from 38.2% in March. BCM is second at 13.6% and Fortis third at 11.3%. No other brand reaches 6%.
Magpul wins on volume at the cheap end. Three of the top five grips are Magpul, and all three cost under $25.

Foregrips are cheap, and builders keep them cheap. 72.8% of picks cost under $30. Another 10.9% landed between $30 and $49, and 16.3% cost $50 or more. More than half of that top band is the Fortis SHIFT.
We set the band edges where the prices split. Picks thin out between $30 and $35, and again between $45 and $55. Seven picks of an OD green AFG-2 were logged at $699.99, a price error, so we counted them under $30 with the rest of the AFG-2s.

We sorted grips by what their listing calls them, and 96% of picks name a type. Vertical grips lead at 42.8%, angled grips follow at 39.7%, and handstops and other stops make up 13.5%. The last 4% are curved grips and listings that don't say.
So vertical wins as a style, but the single most picked grip is angled. Vertical buyers spread across the RVG, the BCM Mod 3, the Fortis SHIFT and the Daniel Defense. Angled buyers mostly land on one grip: 65% of angled picks are an AFG-2 in one color or another.

- Angled grips like the AFG-2 suit a thumb over bore, C-clamp hold. Your hand rides the grip instead of wrapping around it.
- Vertical grips give you something to pull the rifle into your shoulder. They help most off a barricade or from a vehicle.

The pick: Magpul AFG-2, black, $23.99. No foregrip at any price was picked more. 529 builders chose it, over three times the next grip in the band. If you'd rather have FDE, another 103 builders picked that color.
The vertical grips here are nearly tied. The Magpul RVG drew 171 builders and the BCM Gunfighter Mod 3 drew 169. Count every color and the BCM pulls ahead, 258 builders to 235. Both cost under $19.
