Overview
The Leupold 1-Piece Backcountry scope base provides a stable mounting platform for optics on Nosler M48 Long Action receivers. This model integrates 20 MOA of elevation into the base itself, which can assist in maximizing elevation travel for long-range engagements with compatible optics. Constructed from steel, it features an elevated cross-slot design for secure optic ring attachment. GPP build data shows this Leupold scope base appears in long-range precision rifle builds utilizing the Nosler M48 Long Action. Builders on GPP commonly pair this base with Leupold Mark 4 rings. The most common configuration involves a Leupold VX-5HD or VX-6HD riflescope.
Pros
- +Integrated 20 MOA cant, a feature present in a select number of bases in the GPP catalog, can extend usable elevation range for long-distance shooting.
- +The steel construction offers rigidity and durability, aligning with the material choice of many robust scope bases in the GPP catalog.
- +The 1-piece design provides a solid interface, reducing potential points of flex compared to multi-piece base systems.
Trade-offs
- −This product is a scope base, which is a mid-range option in the GPP catalog, whereas most products in this category are complete scope mounts.
