Why 2A Armament

2A Armament is an Idaho shop that makes lightweight AR-15 parts, mostly in titanium, all made in the USA.

The Regulated Bolt Carrier is the part it's known for. You adjust gas right on the carrier through a port door with a T-6 Torx, from fully open to fully closed, without taking the rifle apart. The titanium version weighs about 5.9 oz assembled, against 7.9 oz for the steel one.

The rest of the line trims ounces. The T3 titanium comp uses dual baffles against muzzle rise and recoil and saves about 1.2 oz over steel. The titanium gas block saves 0.6 oz and the takedown pins about 0.2 oz.

You pay for that weight. The regulated carrier launched at $439, and the comp, gas block and pins together save only about 2 oz. Check current prices before you plan around launch numbers.

We'd buy the regulated carrier if you shoot suppressed or switch loads, since it fixes overgassing in one part. The small titanium parts only make sense on a build already chasing weight.

  • The Regulated Bolt Carrier adjusts gas right on the carrier, so you can tune recoil and ejection or run a suppressor without swapping parts.
  • The titanium Regulated Bolt Carrier weighs about 5.9 oz and adjusts with a T-6 Torx without taking the rifle apart.
  • The T3 comp uses dual baffles to fight muzzle rise and recoil, and like 2A's titanium gas block and pins it comes in lighter than the steel versions.
