great stock
10/10 on the magpul stock. super comfortable cheek weld, adjusts easy, and looks sweet on my AR. makes a big difference over the basic mil-spec stock. no complaints, highly recommend it
Magpul started in 1999 when a former Recon Marine made a simple pull loop for rifle mags, and the company is named after it. AR builders know it for PMAG magazines, MOE stocks and grips, and the M-LOK rail slot.

Magpul makes PMAG magazines, MOE stocks and grips, and created the M-LOK slot system that most handguards use now.
Founded 1999, Austin, Texas, Made in USA · Created M-LOK · Mil-spec compatible · 60 day returns
Magpul was started in 1999 by Richard Fitzpatrick, a Force Recon Marine, and named after its first product, a loop that helps you pull mags from a pouch. When Colorado capped magazines in 2013, Magpul moved production to Cheyenne, Wyoming, and its headquarters to Austin, Texas.
The PMAG 30 Gen M3 is the part everyone knows. It's crush resistant polymer with a stainless spring and a self-lubricating anti-tilt follower, weighs 5 ounces, fits AR-15s and HK416s, and lists at about $16. Magpul also designed M-LOK and released it in 2014 under a free license.
The furniture is the rest of the story. The MOE SL stock weighs 9.3 ounces, adjusts 3.3 inches on mil-spec tubes and has a QD socket. Add the CTR stock, MOE and K2 grips, the MVG vertical grip and enhanced trigger guards.
Prices sit at or under the slot: about $45 for a stock against roughly $53, $15 for a grip against $20, and $8 for a trigger guard against $15. Magpul is the most common foregrip, on 56% of builds that have one, and the most common stock at 41%.
The knock is that it's plain polymer. The original MOE stock rattles on the tube. The MOE SL fixes that with internal leaf springs, but the trade is a stiff, slow adjustment. If you want rubber, aluminum or anything that stands out, look elsewhere.
Supply is the easy part. In early October about 82% of Magpul listings across stores were in stock. Olive Drab Green came back to six PMAGs in January 2026, and Medium Coyote Brown is a new furniture color.
We'd put Magpul on nearly any first build. Start with a stack of PMAGs and an MOE SL stock, then spend the savings on the barrel, bolt and trigger.

Just put the magpul pistol grip on my AR and it feels so much better in the hand. Been looking for months and finally found one in stock. Kinda pricey but seems well made, no complaints so far
Honestly, the magpul handguard is a game changer. Installed it, went to the range, 500 rounds no issues. Solid and lightweight, would buy again in a heartbeat.
the magpul pistol grip is alright i guess. better than the standard one but not a huge difference. its ok, i can see why people like it but im not blown away. maybe ill try one of their other grip models next time
the magpul bcg i got is legit. nice finish, good tolerances, ran flawless through a few range trips. only downside is it was a little pricey compared to other brands, but you get what you pay for i guess
