Faxon Firearms ranked #31 of 323 brands on GunPartPicker in September 2026, just behind Ncstar, with about 1 in every 143 parts builders added. Down from #27 in July and August. Builders reached for Faxon Firearms mostly for barrel parts. The most added single part was the FAXON Firearms 5.56 M16 Bolt Carrier Group Nitride TIN PVD, on top again this month.

Barrels were the busiest Faxon Firearms category in September: 163 products came back in stock, several more than once, and demand for them fell about 23% on August. Demand for bolt carrier groups slipped about 18% on August. About 50% of the 664 Faxon Firearms products we track are in stock today.

Why Faxon Firearms

Faxon is a family owned shop near Cincinnati that started its firearms line in 2012 on top of decades of machining work. It makes its barrels completely in house, from bar stock through rifling, stress relieving, chambering, MPI inspection and pinning.

The Gunner profile is the barrel it's known for. It keeps government style stiffness where it matters and goes pencil thin elsewhere, so the rifle balances light. Barrels come in 4150 CMV or 416R stainless, button rifled, with QPQ nitride or PVD finishes.

The catalog runs past 180 barrel options for AR-15, AR-10, bolt guns and 10/22s, including Match Series and Duty barrels, plus bolt carrier groups. Faxon now makes FX-19 pistols too, with in house 17-4 stainless slides that take Glock parts and magazines.

Faxon is the second most added barrel brand, in 22% of builds that have a barrel, at about $190 against roughly $200. Its bolt carriers run about $165 against $200. Faxon barrels end up on Aero receivers 46% of the time, a common midprice pairing.

The usual complaint is gas. That's fine on a competition gun, less fun when the fix costs half the barrel.

In April 2026 Faxon won a retailer voted gold award for aftermarket barrels for the fourth year running. Every barrel carries a lifetime guarantee, and about two thirds of its listings were in stock in early October.
