Got this Fortis end plate for a new build and its superb. The fit is snug with no play, which is exactly what you want. Its aluminum material makes it very lightweight, which is a bonus for a rifle you carry all day. Looks sharp too. Definitely an upgrade from basic mil-spec.
Looks fantastic and the gold color really sets off the lower receiver. It’s definitely light, you can feel the difference compared to a steel end plate. The enhanced aspect is nice for a tight fit. My one gripe, and it's minor, is that it doesn't have a QD sling swivel slot. I prefer one built-in, so I had to use a different sling attachment method. Still a quality piece.
Fortis K1 lightweight enhanced end plate in gold has the integrated QD socket which is what I bought it for. Anodize is more muted than the photos but still distinctive against black. Castle nut tightens to spec, anti-rotation flange seats correctly into the lower.
Gold accent is a nice contrast against a black receiver. The QD socket is recessed which I prefer over the protruding type. Install took longer than expected because no instructions came in the package and the K1 spec is slightly different than standard. Got there eventually.
Needed a good quality end plate for my new AR pistol build and this Fortis didn't disappoint. The enhanced design feels very secure, no wobble with the castle nut torqued down. Its aluminum construction is definitely noticeable compared to the standard steel ones, making it ideal for keeping the overall weight down. Great for stability.
Fortis LE gold end plate has the integrated QD socket which is the main reason to buy it. The gold anodizing has a more muted sheen than the photos suggest, more brass than bright gold. Mechanically perfect. Adds a unique accent against black receivers.
Fortis K1 gold end plate is the same as their black model but in their gold anodize color. Works as a unique accent on otherwise black builds. Integrated QD socket on one side. Anti-rotation flange seats correctly. Slight cost premium for the color but worth it for a custom look.
This Fortis end plate is a solid piece for any build. The gold accent is subtle but really pops against a black receiver set. It's aluminum, so its super light, which is great for shaving ounces on a lightweight build. Install was a breeze, as expected. Holds up perfectly on my 5.56 mid-length.
