It functions as a gas tube should for a pistol build, and the pigtail does help redirect gas a bit. However, it's pretty basic. Didn't notice a huge difference compared to other pistol tubes I've run on similar setups. Still a decent option if you need one.
Got this for my 7.5 inch 5.56 pistol build. Cycling is way more consistent now than with a standard tube. Really happy with how it smoothed out the ejection with my KAK BCG. BCM brace and all, it's a solid little carbine.
