Why DNZ

DNZ Products is a small Sanford, North Carolina shop that machines its mounts in house. It came up in hunting, with Game Reaper mounts made for specific bolt guns and single shots, and it sells fishing lures too.

For an AR the part is the Freedom Reaper, a one piece Picatinny mount cut from a single block of 6061-T6 billet aluminum with the rings built in. The 30mm forward version is 1.38 inches to the scope center, has a 3.8 inch cantilever and weighs 4.8 ounces. Each ring uses four screws.

Freedom Reapers come in 1 inch, 30mm, 34mm and 35mm, in straight and forward versions, with a 20 MOA option for long range. The Game Reaper 2 is a two piece mount at two to three ounces, and the Game Reaper 215 Tactical is the heavy duty one piece.

On ARs, DNZ is the fourth most added optic mount, in about 6% of builds that have one. That's a hunting mount holding its own against the QD cantilevers most AR shooters reach for.

The catch is that nothing moves. Ring spacing is fixed, so a scope with long eye relief or a short tube may not sit where you need it, and there's no quick detach lever. Measure your scope against the mount before you order.

The warranty is fully transferable with no registration, and DNZ replaces a mount used normally that hasn't been modified. Returns inside 30 days cost a $15 restocking fee plus shipping.

We'd put a Freedom Reaper on a hunting or precision AR where the scope stays put for years. If you swap optics often or want QD, look at a lever mount instead.
