Why IWI
IWI US is the American arm of Israel Weapon Industries, the company behind the Tavor, Galil ACE, Negev and Uzi. Its guns are built to MIL-STD and ISO 9001 standards.
The Zion-15 is IWI's AR-15, built around the Mk12 idea, with an SPR version set up for a scope. The Zion-25 is the newer addition to that family.
The rest of the line is where IWI stands apart: the Tavor X95 and Tavor 7 bullpups, the TS12 bullpup shotgun, the Galil ACE in original and Gen II form, and the Jericho 941 pistol.
IWI makes up about 4% of the complete rifles in builds, at a typical price near $1,680 against roughly $920 for a complete rifle.
Only the Zion takes everyday AR parts. A Tavor or Galil uses its own parts, so upgrades and spares are a smaller pool.
We'd buy a Tavor or ACE if you want that rifle for itself. For an AR, the Zion-15 competes with a lot of good, cheaper rifles.
