Running this CMC nitride gas tube in my primary AR with a carbine system. Its been totally reliable, no short stroking or anything weird. The black nitride finish looks great and seems super durable, much better than a phosphate. If you need a quality carbine gas tube without breaking the bank, this is a solid choice.
Got this CMC carbine gas tube for a new build. The nitride finish is definitely a plus for corrosion resistance compared to plain steel. It seated well into my gas block, no issues there. My only small gripe is its carbon steel – I usually lean towards stainless for gas tubes, but for a carbine length it should hold up fine. Good for a basic, reliable setup.
