Holosun ranks #34 of 342 brands on GunPartPicker so far in October 2026, just behind Expo Arms, with about 1 in every 167 parts builders added. Up from #38 in September. Builders are reaching for Holosun mostly for optic parts. The most added single part is the Holosun HS515GM Multi-Reticle Red Dot Sight, on top again this month.

Optics are the busiest Holosun category so far in October: 15 products have come back in stock, several more than once. Lasers have not been restocked once this month. About 65% of the 374 Holosun products we track are in stock today.

Why Holosun

Holosun was set up in Southern California in 2015 and imports sights made in China. What you get is a long feature list for the money: solar backup, motion activated power and switchable reticles on dots that cost less than the big names.

On an AR the HS510C is the one most people know. It's an open reflex sight with a 2 MOA dot and a 65 MOA circle, a titanium hood, a CR2032 rated for 50,000 hours plus a solar panel, a QD mount, and it weighs just under 5 ounces.

The line is huge. Rifle dots run from compact micro dots to the enclosed AEMS and ARO, there's the HM3X magnifier, weaponlights and pistol dots like the 507C and 407C.

Prices sit under the slot: about $320 for an optic against roughly $485, and $271 for a magnifier against $300. Holosun is the fourth most common optic, on about 10% of builds with one, and the second most common laser.

The trade-offs are origin and small details. Made in China rules it out for some buyers. On the 510C the buttons are small and only on one side, the dot can look starry at high brightness, and it can throw low battery warnings on overcast days.

In February 2025 Holosun recalled about 9,400 HS503G-ACSS and HE512C-GD sights because a child could reach the coin battery too easily. It's a free battery cover or tray fix. For 2026 the ARO-EVO-DUAL and AEMS-EVO-DUAL add built-in visible and infrared lasers.

We'd start with a 503 or 510C for a first AR and add the HM3X later if you want reach. It's the easy way to get a good dot without spending Aimpoint money.
