Best Overall: EOTech G45 5X

A magnifier sits behind your red dot or holographic sight and enlarges whatever the sight shows you. It has no reticle of its own. You aim with the dot, and the magnifier lets you see a small target at distance. When you don't need it, its mount flips it to the side and you're back to a clear 1x view.

The G45 gives you 5x, more than the 3x most magnifiers offer. EOTech says it has about the same weight and size as its older 3x G33 but adds 2x of magnification. Builders put it far ahead of the rest: it took 18.0% of magnifier picks July through September 2026, and the same magnifier sold without a mount added another 5.0%.

The Juliet3 Micro is a small 3x magnifier with a push button mount that flips 90 degrees to the side. Sig says it's 30% smaller and lighter than the original Juliet3, so it adds less weight to the top of your rifle than a full size magnifier.

It's the magnifier for a builder who wants 3x behind a red dot, cares about weight more than reach and doesn't want to spend much. It's a fit if you'll move the magnifier between rifles, or if your red dot sits at an unusual height. It took 7.5% of magnifier picks, tied for third.

3x or 5x?

A 3x magnifier is lighter and shorter, and it's the traditional choice behind a red dot. A 5x gives you more reach for small targets at distance. The most picked magnifier is a 5x, but four of the top six are 3x, so builders still lean 3x overall.

If you shoot mostly inside 200 yards and want the lightest setup, take a 3x micro like the Juliet3 Micro. If you want to see small targets farther out, the G45's 5x helps.
