Damascus is the Modern Warfare (2019) mastery camo for getting Platinum in every weapon class, named after the famous patterned steel. Here it is painted with real spray can colors on 12 real guns. Pick yours to open it in the planner, then reroll the layout or paint over it by hand.

The Damascus camo on 12 real guns
Where the Damascus camo comes from
Modern Warfare launched on 25 October 2019 with Damascus at the end of the grind. Gold on a gun, Platinum on a class, Damascus once every class was Platinum. In practice, Gold on every gun.
Infinity Ward called it an oil silk camo. In game it's a dark purple, pearly base with red swirls, like an oil slick. Obsidian came later, in April 2020, and only needs Gold on that one gun.
The name comes from Damascus steel, the crucible steel smiths made from Indian and Sri Lankan ingots, with bands that flow like water. Most Damascus knives today are pattern welded, layers of steel folded and etched.
Our spray can version goes for the steel: gray and white contour swirls over black. It looks like a folded blade on a slide or handguard.

Painting Damascus on a real gun
Black base, then Krylon Gloss Smoke Gray and Flat White sprayed through a topographic contour stencil. Shift the stencil slightly for the white so the lines double up like layered steel.
For the game's oil slick look, swap the gray and white for purple and red.
We'd lay the contour stencil flat and press it down hard. You want crisp lines, and loose edges blur the steel look.
How to spray Damascus on a gun
1. Strip it down
On an AR pull the bolt carrier group and split the upper and lower. On an AK take off the dust cover and bolt carrier. On a Glock take the slide off. Remove the optic or plan to tape it.
2. Degrease everything
Wipe every outside surface with acetone or isopropyl alcohol. Paint will not hold over gun oil.
3. Mask what moves
Plug the chamber and muzzle, tape the ejection port, magazine well, trigger and safety, and cover the optic lenses.
4. Base coat in black
Two light coats over the whole gun, 8 to 12 inches away, 10 minutes apart.
5. Smoke gray through a topo map stencil
Lay a topo map stencil sheet on the gun and spray smoke gray through it.
6. White through a topo map stencil
Lay a topo map stencil sheet on the gun and spray white through it.
7. Let it cure
Handle it after an hour but give it a full day before it goes in a case, and a few days before hard use.
