Why Canik
Canik is a Turkish pistol maker under Samsun Yurt Savunma, and it built its guns on the group's defense and aerospace manufacturing. The pitch has always been a lot of pistol for the money, and Canik USA now runs manufacturing in the US with American workers.
The TP9 series is where it started, and much of its early design came from the Walther P99. The current METE line covers the SFx, the SFT Pro and the micro compact MC9, and the SFx Rival-S is the competition model.
Canik also sells its own reflex sights, the ONYXc micro and the ONYX XL at about $260, plus 26 round full size mags around $55 and a 5.5 inch fluted threaded barrel for the Rival-S at about $140.
These are pistols, not rifle parts, so on a build site they matter mostly for optics and mags. Before you buy, check that the holster, light and dot you want already fit the exact model.
We'd look at a METE if you want a full featured striker gun without paying for the logo. Just confirm your holster and dot exist for it first.
