Why FailZero
FailZero belongs to UCT Coatings, a nickel boron plating company that also coats aerospace and oil field parts. FailZero started in 2009 selling bolt carrier groups with the EXO coating made by its parent, UCT Coatings.
The EXO coating is the whole point. It stays slick dry, so the carrier runs with less oil, has no grease to trap grit and wipes clean. The line covers AR-15 and AR-10 carriers, 6mm ARC, 7.62x39 and 9mm groups, plus a lightweight full auto rated carrier.
A FailZero carrier runs about $130 against roughly $200 for the typical BCG, and it fills about 3% of builds' bolt carrier slots.
The warranty has teeth. If the coating chips, peels or wears through, FailZero recoats it free, return shipping included, with no registration. It won't cover abuse, and slick doesn't mean you can skip cleaning. We'd buy one if you hate scrubbing a bolt.
