Why Huxwrx

HUXWRX is the old OSS, a suppressor maker that grew up on military and police contracts and renamed itself to sell to everyone else. Everything is made in Murray, Utah, around one idea: send the gas forward, not back into your face.

The Flow 556K is the can people know. It's 3D printed in 17-4 stainless, 5.5 inches long and 1.6 inches wide, about 12 ounces, full auto rated for 5.56, and the Torque Lock mount snugs itself on without a wrench. The FBI Hostage Rescue Team bought it on a five year contract.

The rest of the Flow line covers the Flow 556 Ti at 11.4 ounces, the Flow 762 Ti, Flow 6K, Flow 22 Ti and the Flow 9K for 9mm. On the muzzle side, the QD 556 flash hider is 1/2x28, adds 1.7 inches and takes every HX-QD and Flow can.

Its muzzle devices cost far more than the typical one, about $129 against roughly $73, because the QD flash hider is really a suppressor mount. It's still the fourth most common muzzle device, on about 11% of builds that have one.

The trade-off is cost and sound. A Flow 556K lists near $1,100, more than many 5.56 cans. Flow-Through also sounds boomy rather than sharp, a low frequency tone that comes from the gas leaving the front fast. At your ear it tests very quiet, but it doesn't sound like a baffle can.

The $200 tax stamp on suppressors went to zero on January 1, 2026. You still file the paperwork and wait on a background check, and the first rush stretched checks from a few days to about two weeks.

We'd start with the QD flash hider on any rifle that might get a can, then add the Flow 556K when you're ready. If you only want a muzzle device, a plain flash hider costs half as much.
