Why Phoenix Rising
Phoenix Rising is a line of specialty 12 gauge shells from Personal Security Products. These are hand built novelty loads, sold three to a pack, not something you stock by the case.
The Annihilator is a 485 grain half copper coated slug rated at 1540 fps. The Ball and Chain joins two .60 caliber steel balls with a 6 inch braided steel cable and runs about 1200 fps for around $25 a pack.
They're fun to film and test on targets, but they cost far more per shot than regular buckshot and you can't practice with them. We'd buy them for a range day, and keep proven buckshot for the home defense gun.
- The Annihilator is a 485 grain half copper coated slug rated at 1540 fps, built to expand on impact.
- The Ball and Chain bolo round packs two .60 caliber balls joined by a 6 inch braided steel cable.
