CMMG is the seventh most added brand on GunPartPicker so far in October 2026, behind Radian, with about 4% of every part builders added. That's its 3rd straight month at #7. Builders are reaching for CMMG mostly for takedown pin parts. The most added single part is the CMMG AR-15 HD Pivot and Takedown Pin Parts KIT - 55AFF3B, on top again this month.

Upper receivers are the busiest CMMG category so far in October: 21 products have come back in stock, several more than once. Lower receivers have not been restocked once this month. About 42% of the 1,071 CMMG products we track are in stock today.

Why CMMG

CMMG started in 2002 in Missouri with the goal of an AR anyone could afford, and it's now in Boonville. Everything is made in the USA, and every product carries a lifetime guarantee against defects in material or workmanship.

It's known for Radial Delayed Blowback, launched in 2017. The bolt has to rotate and unlock before it cycles, which slows the carrier enough to run rounds like 10mm and .45 ACP in an AR. CMMG also patented and released its first .22LR AR conversion kit in 2010.

The guns split into Banshee pistols, Resolute carbines and Endeavor rifles, and the Dissent line drops the buffer tube altogether, with the Br47 Dissent taking AK magazines. For builders, the $60 lower parts kit with color coded bags is usually the first CMMG part you meet.

The small parts lead their slots. CMMG takedown pins are the most added, in 33% of builds that have them, and the mag release is second. A CMMG buffer runs about $17 against roughly $57 for the typical buffer.

The trade-off is consistency. Most kits go together fine, but some arrive missing a spring or detent. Count the parts before you start.

Stock is patchy. In early October about 41% of CMMG listings across stores were in stock, so a specific kit or color can take some hunting.
