Noveske ranked #65 of 323 brands on GunPartPicker in September 2026, just behind Aimpoint, with about 1 in every 333 parts builders added. Down from #62 in August. Builders reached for Noveske mostly for takedown pin parts. The most added single part was the Noveske AR-15 Takedown & Pivot Pin Set, on top again this month.

Barrels were the busiest Noveske category in September: 13 products came back in stock. Demand for lower receivers and takedown pins slipped about 44% on August. About 34% of the 245 Noveske products we track are in stock today.

Why Noveske

John Noveske started the company in Grants Pass, Oregon, in 2001, and special operations units took up his barrels soon after 9/11. Since his death in 2013 his family has run it, with no private equity behind it.

Barrels are the reason to buy. Every Noveske barrel is hand chambered on the same machines and process used for about 25 years, with house steel specs. The newer DDF barrels are 416R stainless with deep flutes, a hand polished match chamber and 5/8x24 threads.

The line splits into the billet N4 for AR-15s, the N6 for AR-10s and the N9 pistol caliber guns. Chainsaw is the forged 7075-T6 line, and the NSR handguards and a nitrided 4140 steel takedown and pivot pin set round it out.

The pin set is the part that travels. It's the fourth most added takedown pin, at about $15 at most stores. Noveske lowers sit at about $386 against roughly $213 and land in about 1% of builds with a lower.

The trade-off is price. A DDF complete upper runs around $1,900, and even the Chainsaw rifle, the cheaper line, launched at $1,975. The pins also fit tighter than mil-spec, so put a drop of oil on them when you install.

Stock is thin. In early October only about 32% of Noveske listings across stores were in stock. The headline product right now is a 6mm ARC N4 with a DDF barrel.

We'd start with the pin set if you just want a Noveske part on the gun. Buy a barrel or upper when you want a hand chambered barrel and can wait for one to show up.
