Why Otter Creek Labs

Otter Creek Labs is a newer suppressor maker that built its name by updating older designs. The OCM5, for one, is a titanium take on the Allen Engineering AEM5, made quieter and lighter with less backpressure.

The Polonium is the can most people buy. It's welded, tubeless 17-4 stainless, full auto rated, and uses 1.375x24 rear threads with a 1/2x28 direct thread adapter in the box. The full size is 5.8 inches and 13.5 ounces; the Polonium-K is 4.8 inches and 11.5 ounces.

Past the Polonium, the OCM6 pairs a titanium tube with a 3D printed Inconel core at 16 ounces, the Infinity is a printed Inconel 7.62 can on a HUB mount, and the PR30-L is a long, quiet 30 caliber precision can. OCL also sells muzzle brakes.

It's the fifth most added suppressor brand, in about 8% of builds that have a can. Its suppressors sell for about $522 against roughly $900 for the typical can.

The trade-off is backpressure. Independent sound testing found the Polonium very quiet at the muzzle, but with high flow restriction that sends more gas out the ejection port. Expect to tune your buffer or gas, and steel cans weigh more than titanium.

We'd start with the Polonium-K on a short 5.56 if you want a tough can at around half the usual price. Plan on an adjustable gas block if you shoot it a lot.
