Why Panzer Arms
Panzer Arms is a Turkish maker of the AR-12 shotgun and the AR57, a 5.7x28mm upper that drops onto any mil-spec AR-15 lower.
The AR57 loads from the top like a P90 and ejects down through the magwell. It uses a 7075-T6 monobloc receiver, an 8620 steel bolt and a 16 inch barrel with a 1:8.5 twist and 1/2x28 threads, and has listed around $700 with one 50 round magazine.
It needs its own magazines, and 5.7 ammo costs more than 5.56. We'd buy one for a fun, low recoil plinker on a lower you already own.
- The AR57 upper loads from the top like a P90, ejects down through the mag well and works on any mil-spec AR-15 lower.
